Class Introduction – Draft

Xhavier Ramos

Good Afternoon, Professor and Peers, I acknowledge my tardy response to this prompt. I very much struggled to make it to this point, and even now I’m not sure what I’m doing. I intend to major in psychology. I’m quite intrigued by the study of the human mind and its response to interactions and other things. My preferred pronouns are he/him/his, and to be quite honest, I’m not too sure what to expect here. Originally, in the quest of finding an English class for this semester, I thought back to my first professor, Austin Williams, and tried to get into his class because he was a great, awesome guy. I am unfamiliar with the course subject writing for social sciences, so this will be different. I’m here to learn and willing to grow. That is no backhanded intent towards our new professor, just my expectation. While it’s unfortunate I cannot get taught by my former professor, I am glad to build new relationships and get a different eye, perspective, should I say, on the studies of English Language Arts.

The picture above doesn’t have much of an explanation. I was caught somewhat off guard and forced to pose it. Don’t get more straightforward than that. I come from a Dominican and Puerto Rican background, so if my attitude is standoffish, my bad. To a more serious note, I look forward to learning all that I can from this course this semester. I have a long journey ahead of me here, so I can’t wait to see.
