Class Introduction

Hello!

My name is Mario Jose Marte, yeah two names, I know lol. I’m an Art major, still unsure about my concentration though. My pronouns are He/Him.

My first impression of this class was that is going to be very interesting. I’m not someone who likes to speak too, much but I love observing people, trust me. )_)

I believe learning about people and their experiences is something that will benefit me a lot, so I’m looking forward to learning about you guys and what makes you who you are. I believe learning about each other’s cultures and practices is a great way of expanding our overall knowledge, regardless of our major. I honestly haven’t met too many people who are different from me in terms of culture and practices, since I have been surrounded by Hispanics/Latinos from kindergarten to high school. (Basically, my whole life lol). I have met people from other countries, but we share a lot of similarities including language and gastronomy.

So far, the project that has me more excited is the Visual Social Analysis essay, because I feel like it will be easier for me to blend my creative side with academic writing. I always try to make learning fun for me so it’s less stressful, so I feel like this project will be my favorite.

So yeah, this Is me!  if you wish to learn more about me, just ask, I might be a bit shy at first, but ill warm up to you, I promise. 🙂

Here's a decent one lol.
Yay!

  1. Hello Mario, is Margerth, nice to share class with you again.
I strongly agree with your opinion that the best way to learn about something is taking it into practice, doing something helpful us understand the reason why people do this type of things. Also, it help us connect with a new universe that we could discover just by trying.
I’m soo excited we’re sharing class again, See you.

  2. Hii, I really enjoyed reading your introduction. I also tend to be on the quieter side, so I liked how you talked about observing people and learning from their experiences. I agree that learning about different cultures is really important, no matter what we study.

  3. Hello, Mario Jose lol.
Nice intro and Yes as much as a yapper and talky person that I Am . I am very shy at first untill I warm up to you or unless my social battery is full lol. I agree about how we should learn about others bringing us benefit.

  4. Hey, Mario, I can see why you would enjoy that essay since ur an Art Major. I am also looking forward to that assignment and learning how to be more creative and blend it with my writing. I’m also a person who doesn’t like to speak much, but you seem cool. I’m looking forward to connecting with you more.

  5. Hi Mario, I agree with you when it comes to knowing one another in culture and practices because there is much that we don’t know, not because there aren’t the tools or means, but because we are so concentrated in the daily routine that the classroom, daily commute, and social media are where more insight in terms of culure there is for this generation.
